UGANDA JUNGLE TOUR (12 DAYS 11 NIGHTS)
This Uganda Jungle Safari features Uganda's best national parks : Murchison Falls National Park, Kibale Forest, Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Mgahinga Gorilla National Park and Lake Mburo.
UGANDA JUNGLE TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1: Depart for Murchison Falls National Park
After break fast, the guide will pick up early morning and depart to Murchison falls national park. You will have a stop for lunch at Masindi and then take a direct drive to the top of the falls. Of course its not easy to drive up to the top of the falls there fore it is advisable to first refresh yourself and then proceed to explore the different viewpoints and the refreshing spray as the Nile thunders through different rapids from a 7-metre gap to fall over 40 metres below listening to the sounds of Hippos, crickets and the roar of the Nile. Then proceed to Paraa Lodge/Nile safari camp/Red chilli for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Wildlife Game Viewing & Nile Launch Trip
You will go for an early morning game drive and have a chance to view the precious animals before they return to their hide outs. You are expected to take your break fast as early as possible can and as well catch the early morning risers. While on these game drives you will see animals like Giraffes, Elephant, Bushbucks Lion, Jackal, Hartebeest and birdlife. Then return to the lodge for lunch.
After having lunch, you will go for a boat safari upstream the calm Victoria Nile to the base of the falls stopping just ten meters from the 'Devil's Cauldron', marvel at the toothsome hippos, crocodiles and over the 17km stretch you may see elephant, waterbuck and Uganda Kob. This is also the zone of many birds, species like goliath heron, Egyptian goose, pelican bee-eater, kingfisher, hornbill, cormorant and the rare shoebill stork. Then return to your place of accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Cultural Tour and Bunyoro Kingdom
Following breakfast, depart from Murchison Falls National park and head Southwest through the Albertine Escarpment of the Rift Valley. Continue through Hoima town and reach the beautiful town of Fort Portal which is located on the shadow of the mythical Rwenzori Mountain. Dinner and Overnight at Ndali Lodge/Primate Lodge/Rwenzori View Guest house/Kanyankyu Ecological site.
Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking and Trekking in Kibale
After break fast proceed to the Park for chimpanzee trekking from Kanyanchu camp where you will be able to see many primate species like colobus monkeys, grey cheeked Mangabeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, butterflies, birds like the great blue Turaco and many other small insects. You will see these while looking for the chimpanzees in the forest before or after tracking. After trekking you will return `and have refreshments and then drive to queen Elizabeth. Have dinner at Mweya Safari Lodge/Jacana Lodge any of your choice.
Day 5: Wildlife & Kazinga Channel Launch Trip
Wake up early morning and have breakfast, then go for the game drives where you may be able to see animals like elephants, Uganda kobs, Lions, Giant Forest Hogs, Leopards, Cape Buffaloes, Defassa Waterbucks, Topi and Bush bucks and others may be seen too if you are lucky .You will have soft drinks then go for the afternoon launch cruises at Kazinga Channel. While on the launch trip you will see hippos on the crowned banks of the channel with a clear view of birds like fish eagle, Shoe bill, African skimmer, papyrus gonolek and others birds, crocodile, elephants and other animals which may be seen on the game drive. Return to your place of accommodation for dinner and over night.
Day 6: Queen Elizabeth Wildife Tour
You will be given break fast in the morning and move with packed snacks ready for the nature walk through the local people and other interesting areas around the park. Visit the traditional salt works in the enclaves of Lake Katwe and see the traditional methods of making salts as well as traditional dances from the ethnic groups of the Bakonjo Banyankole and Bakiga. Then have lunch at Jacana safari lodge and head to Immaragambo. You will see a bat cave and pythons which feed on the bats. If you have luck, you may see other primates like birds, butterflies and others in the forest. Return to Jacana for dinner and overnight.
Day 7 : Ishasha tree climbing lions
Early morning you will have a cup of tea then drive to Ishasha and get ready to see the tree climbing lions while continuing to Bwindi Gorilla National Park. Dinner and Over night at Gorilla Resort/Volcanoes Camp/Buhoma Community Bandas/ Buhoma Homestead.
Day 8: Mountain Gorilla Tracking
After an early breakfast get briefed about gorilla tracking from the local destination guide. Go gorilla tracking in the ancient tropical rain forest of Bwindi national park. Gorilla tracking is an adventure activity which involves walking on steeper sides and may involve the whole day. After seeing the gentle giants from their Kingdom, you will have lunch. Time permitting, engage in a local community visit or take a nature walk through the forest. Dinner and Overnight Gorilla Resort/Volcanoes Camp/Buhoma Community Bandas/ Buhoma Homestead.
Day 9: Return to Kampala
The journey will start at 7:00 am after breakfast and proceed to Kampala. If time permits you, you will have a city tour before you proceed to Entebbe for your flight back home.
