UGANDA JUNGLE TOUR (12 DAYS 11 NIGHTS)
This Uganda Grand Safari features Uganda's best national parks protecting a wide range of biodiversity. These parks include Murchison Falls, Kibale Forest, Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Mgahinga Gorilla National Park and Lake Mburo.
UGANDA JUNGLE TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1: Travel to Murchison Falls National Park
Our safari guide will pick you from your place of establishment for a drive to Murchison Falls National Park. The drive takes you through the famous Luwero triangle and Budongo forest on the western arm of the Great Rift Valley.
The journey offers you a chance to see great sceneries that are pleasing. Getting to the park by afternoon, take on a drive to the top of the falls where the Nile perfects its beauty. From this point you will see the calm Nile forcing itself through a narrow gorge to fall a distance of about 150 ft down producing a thunderous roar of white water. Its fantastic scenery is quite Impressive while the roar of the Nile make the trip an ommissible one! You will then be transferred to Paraa Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Wildife in Murchison Falls National Park
Wake up and have breakfast, then proceed for the game drive before dawn to catch up with predators and early risers. This early morning game drive may reward you with a variety of game such as jackals, hyenas, giraffes, lions, antelopes, elephants, the Uganda kob and many more. You will return from the game drive and have late breakfast and lunch. Go for a launch cruise on the Victoria Nile after lunch, the boat trip will take you to the bottom of the falls where you will be able to see animals like the buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, elephants and plenty of water birds like fish eagles and rare shoebills and many more. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge.
Day 3: Travel to Kibale Forest National Park
Wake up and have breakfast then drive to Fort Portal, pass through farms, traditional homesteads and reach the town that is located amidst the mountains of the moon. You will reach late in the afternoon, dine and be entertained by some of the cultural dancers of the country. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge /Primates Lodge/ Rwenzori travellers Inn.
Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking
Early morning after breakfast, you will go chimpanzee tracking in the forest and this will enable you view other primates like the Colobus monkeys, Grey cheeked Mangabey, baboons, Bush babies and many more. The destination guide will guide you through tree identification, as well as in telling you the different features of the forest. After having Packed lunch, take an afternoon nature walk through the Bigodi swamp to see swamp birds, primates as well as some of the community Based projects financed by tourism. Dinner and overnight at Ndali lodge or Primates Lodge or Rwenzori Travelers Inn.
Day 5: Queen Elizabeth & the Kazinga Channel
Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park after breakfast in the morning. Following the mystical Rwenzori Mountain Ranges the journey to Queen Elizabeth National park is interesting and rewarding with a number of faetures. While on the drive within Queen Elizabeth national park, expect seeing animals including predators. Reaching the park by afternoon, have lunch and then go for a boat trip on the Kazinga channel a renowned area for the highest Hippo concentartyion in Africa. Other faetures that you should expect to see include buffaloes, elephants and a number of water birds at a close range. Dinner and overnight Mweya Safari Lodge / Jacana Lodge/Institute of Ecology.
Day 6: Wildife Game Drive & Chimp Tracking From Kyambura
Wake up and go for an early morning game drive and catch up with the early risers and predator returning to their hide outs. This drive may reward you with game like Lions, elephants, buffaloes, hyenas, jackals, bush bucks, bush pigs, and many more. You will return from the game drive for lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon you will drive to the Kyambura gorge to track chimps and other primates. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge / jacana Lodge.
Day 7: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Wake up and have breakfast then drive through the Ishasha sector and proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This drive takes you through the Ishasha region renowned for the famous tree climbing Lions. Reaching in the afternoon, go for a community walk. You will be entertained by some cultural dancers of the area. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Resort / Buhoma community Bandas.
Day 8: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Gorilla Park
Have breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters for briefing before setting off to the forest in search for gorillas. After the briefing, set off to the forest for the mountain gorilla tracking expedition. The time taken to search for these humble great apes is unpredictable, however it ranges between 2-9 hours depending on their movement. Dinner and over night at Gorilla Resort / Buhoma homestead.
Day 9: Proceed to Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Mburo National Park, the smallest savanna national park in Uganda. Getting there in the afternoon, have lunch and later go for a canoe ride on Lake Mburo. while on the ride, expect seeing various game and birds at the shores. Dinner and overnight at Mantana tented Camp/ Rwonyo camp.
Day 10: Wildife in Lake Mburo
Start your day with an early morning game drive through this savanna accacia associated park. While on the drive, you may see various animals such as the Uganda kob, Defassa waterbucks, impalas, bushbucks, monkeys and many more. Return to the lodge for breakfast and later go for a guided nature walk to the salt lick area where there is a blind observatory animal that can allow you to see more than four different animal species licking salt from the salty soils. Have lunch and then in the afternoon drive back to Kampala. Dinner and overnight at Cassia Lodge/Sheraton Hotel
Day 11: Transfer to Ngamba Island
Following breakfast, you will transfer to the shores of Lake Victoria where you will cruise on the lake for about an hour and then transfer to Ngamba Islands Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Located deep in Lake Victoria, Ngamba chimpanzee sanctuary is managed by the Jane Good All Institute that takes care of chimps that are helpless in the wild. While on the Island you have the chance to spend some time with these great apes. It is great fun to look at our cousins, sharing and feeding them. In the afternoon you may go for a nature walk or rest by the shores. Dinner and overnight at the Island.
Day 12: Ngamba Island Forest Walk
In the morning, you will go for a forest walk on the Islands. While on the walk along with the young chimps, you can walk with them by hand, or carry them as you move. Return from the walk and then in the afternoon transfer to Entebbe.
