UgandaTour - 15 Days Safari in Uganda
This is a 15 days safari starting and ending in Kampala. This safari takes you to Uganda's best safari parks and tourism sites. From Murchison Falls and Queen Elizabeth national park go for game viewing and chimpanzee tracking while from Kibale Forest tracking man's closest relatives - chimpanzees is among the best adventure activities of a Ugandan Safari. From Bwindi Impenetrable park you will be able to track the endangered mountain gorillas that live in this tropical rain forest.
UGANDA EXPLORATION TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1: Kampala - Murchison Falls
After breakfast, our safari guide will pick you from the hotel and drive you to Murchison falls national park. This journey takes you through the famous Luwero triangle and pass via Budongo forest on the western arm of the Great Rift Valley.
The journey will offer you with great sceneries that are picturesque. Reaching the park in the afternoon, you will drive to the top of the falls where the Nile perfects its beauty. Here you will see the calm Nile forcing its self through a narrow gorge to fall a distance of about 150 ft down producing a thunderous roar of white water- incredible scenery! You will then transfer to Paraa Lodge/ Sambiya River Lodge/ Masindi Hotel/ Red Chilli Rest Camp/ Kaniyo Pabidi Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Murchison Wildlife Tour
Before dawn, start your day with an early morning game drive to catch up with predators and early risers. This early morning drive may reward you with various game such as jackals, hyenas, giraffe, lion, antelope, elephant, and the Uganda kob and many more. You will return from the game drive for late breakfast and lunch and then in the afternoon you will go for a launch cruise on the Victoria Nile. The boat trip will take you to the bottom of the falls where you may see different animals including the buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, elephants and plenty of water birds such as fish eagles, the rare shoebills and many more. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge/ Sambiya River lodge/ Masindi Hotel/ Red Chilli Rest Camp/ Kaniyo Pabidi Camp.
Day 3: Kibale Primates Forest Park
Have breakfast and proceed to Kibale National park. Reaching in the afternoon, have lunch and then relax. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge /Rwenzori travellers Inn/ Primates Lodge.
Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking from the Primates Forest
After breakfast, go for the search for chimpanzees in the Kibale tropical moist forest. The search for our closest relatives - the Chimps, may enable you view other primates such as the colobus monkeys, Mangabeys, baboons, Bushbabies and many more. The local Destination guide will make your walk informative and productive making it interesting by providing information on both flora and fauna as well other interesting features secluded within this forest. After lunch, you will go for a walk to Bigodi sanctuary characterised by plenty of birds, rare fauna and flora. Dinner and overnight at Ndali lodge or Rwenzori Travelers Inn or Primates Lodge.
Day 5: Semuliki National Park
Very early in the morning depart for Semliki national park. The drive will take you down the eastern side of Lake Albert. Situated in the basin of the western Rift valley, Semliki National Park is one of the parks with many habitats ranging from Riparian forests, rain forests to short and high grass savannah. It is also known for its spot lit night game drives that reward you with nocturnal dwellers like the white tailed mongoose and slender mongoose, standard and pennant winged nightjars, cats, hyenas, leopards and many more. This is the only park in Uganda where you can do a spot lit night drive. The park generally offers lots of surprises because you never know what you might find. Overnight at Semliki safari Lodge/Kanyankyu Ecological site (FB)
Day 6: Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, head to Queen Elizabeth National park situated in the mystical Rwenzori Mt. Ranges. The journey will offer you with an interesting game drive enroute. While on the drive, keep an eye out for interesting game such as leopard, hyena, elephant, buffalo, and the King of the Jungle – Lion. Reaching the park by afternoon, have lunch and then go for a launch trip on the Kazinga channel cahracterised by a high population of Hippos, buffaloes and water birds that frequent the lake shores. Dinner and overnight Mweya Safari Lodge / Jacana Lodge.
Day 7: Wildlife Tour of Queen Elizabeth National Park
Start your day with an early morning game drive to catch up with the early risers and predator returning to their conceal outs. This drive may reward you with various game including Lions, elephants, buffaloes, hyenas, jackals, bush bucks, bush pigs, and many more. After the drive, return for lunch at the Lodge. In the afternoon, go to the Kyambura gorge for chimpanzee tracking. This walk may reward you with the pleasure of viewing other primates such as the black and white colobus monkeys, red colobuses, baboons etc. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge / Jacana Lodge.
Day 8: Queen - Bwindi Gorilla Park
Have breakfast and go for a game drive enroute as you transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will pass through the Ishasha sector renowned of its tree climbing lions. Reaching Bwindi in the late afternoon check-in, relax, and later go for a community walk in the neighbouring local communities. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla resort / Buhoma community Bandas.
Day 9: Mountain Gorilla Tracking in the Bwindi Gorilla Park
Wake up and have breakfast then transfer to the park headquarters for briefing before setting off to the forest in search for gorillas. The guide will brief you and at 9:00 am you will set off to the forest for these apes. After the briefing, proceed to the impenetrable forest and search for the humble apes. Gorilla Tracking is unpredictable however the activity ranges between 2-9 hours depending on the mountain gorilla movements. The activity requires you to go through steep rocks climbing up and down making it abit tiresome. However, the thrill of encountering these giant primates erases the poor memories you went through in trying to find them. Dinner and over night at Gorilla Resort / Buhoma homestead.
Day 1O: Lake Bunyonyi and the Switzerland of Africa
In the morning, you will have breakfast and then drive to Lake Bunyonyi. It is a picturesque spot dotted with small islands and ringed with very steep terraces. The place is known to be a birders sanctuary with plenty of waterbirds. Small and large from which the lake was named- Bunyonyi- meaning Small birds. Dinner and overnight at Lake Bunyonyi overland Camp.
Day 11: Lake Bunyonyi and its Islands Tour
This morning you will go for a canoe ride on lake Bunyonyi to explore the birds and all over the area. Dinner and overland Lake Bunyonyi overland Camp.
Day 12: Lake Mburo National Park
Have breakfast and drive off to Lake Mburo National Park. The park is well known for harbouring plenty of antelope including the impala from which the Capital city of Uganda-Kampala- was named. You will drive through some of the finest sceneries and reach Lake Mburo NP in the afternoon. You will have lunch and then go for a canoe ride on Lake Mburo to search for animals at the shores of the lake. Dinner and overnight at Mantana tented Camp / Rwonyo Camp.
Day 13: Lake Mburo Wildife Tour
Have breakfast and go for game drives in the morning and in the afternoon to explore all the game and avifauna in the park. The park is also referred to as birders paradise with over 300 species recorded. Dinner and overnight at Mantana tented Camp / Rwonyo Camp.
Day 14: Kampala Return Trip
This morning have breakfast to drive back to Kampala. You will have a brief stop at the equator for photographs and crafts to reach Kampala in the afternoon. Have lunch and then rest this afternoon at your Hotel. Dinner and overnight at Sheraton / Hotel Africana.
Day 15: Kampala City Tour
Wake up and have breakfast then go for a city tour in Kampala. You will visit places like the Bahai Temple, Uganda Museum, Namugongo Martyrs Shrine, Kasubi and Wamala Tombs where the Buganda kings are buried (Incase time permits). You will then be transferred to Entebbe Airport after lunch for your flight back home depending on your time of departure.
