This Uganda Gorilla Safari takes you to Uganda's ancient tropical rainforest of Bwindi for gorilla tracking as well as Queen Elizabeth National park for game viewing, wildife and chimpanzee tracking.
UGANDA GORILLA SAFARI ITINERARY
Day 1: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Have breakfast in the morning and then drive to Bwindi Impenetrable forest. The journey takes you south west of Uganda. Make a stop at the equator for photographs and continue to Mbarara where you will stop for lunch and then proceed to Bwindi in the late afternoon. In the evening you will go for a community walk where you will be entertained in some of the cultural dances of the community. Dinner and overnight at the Gorilla resort / Buhoma homestead / Buhoma community Bandas.
Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Tracking
Wake up and prepare to go for gorilla tracking after having a light breakfast. From the park headquarters the destination guide will brief you before setting off to the forest in search for gentle world giants. The time you take searching these humble apes is unpredictable however it ranges between 2-9 hours depending on their movement. The activity requires you walking through steep rocks, climbing up steep slopes, however the thrill of encountering these giant primates erases the poor memories you go through in trying to find them. Dinner and over night at Gorilla Resort / Buhoma homestead.
Day 3: The Ishasha Sector & the Tree Climbing Lions
Following breakfast, you will travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park, pass via Ishasha sector and have a chance to view some game enroute. You will have a relaxed drive and reach in the evening. Alternatively you can have an evening game drive (provided on request). Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/ Institute of Ecology.
Day 4: Game Drive and Launch Cruise on the Kazinga Channel
Early morning following breakfast, you will go for a morning game drive to catch up with the early risers and predators. After the drive, return to the lodge for late breakfast and lunch. In the afternoon you will go for a launch cruise along Kazinga channel. You will see different animals such as hippos, crocodiles and different water birds along the river bank. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/ Institute of Ecology.
Day 5: Return Trip to Kampala
After these extra-ordinary experiences we have to go back to Kampala. Have breakfast and hit the road to Kampala. You will have a stop in any of the districts for lunch to reach Kampala in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Africana / Serena hotel.
