BEST OF RWANDA GORILLAS, KARISOKE AND GOLDEN MONKEYS (6 DAYS)
This safari takes you to Rwanda for a 7 days tour in its beautifull national parks and tourist sites. The major highlights of the safari include mountain gorilla tracking in the volcanoes National park, visit to Dian Fossey Research centre, the Rwanda genocide Memorial, Kigali City and the local Communities as well.
DAY 1: ARRIVAL & TRANSFER TO MOUNTAIN GORILLA NEST
You will arrive either in the morning or mid morning into Kanombe International Airport at Kigali. You will meet the representatives and transfer through winding roads to the Mountain Gorillas Nest Lodge for dinner and overnight.
DAY 2: GORILLA TRACKING IN THE VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK
Wake up early morning and have breakfast then proceed to the Volcanoes Gorilla Park. Depending on the level of fitness, you may be allowed to choose the group of gorillas you wish to visit. The closest being about 2 hours or even a couple of minutes from the park boundary. Dinner and overnight at the Mountain Gorillas Nest Lodge.
Day 3: DIAN FOSSEY RESEARCH CENTRE
Early morning after breakfast, you will travel to the famous Dian Fossey Research centre and Grave Yard. Where Dr. Fossey spent close to two decades habituating, studying and conserving the endangered mountain Gorillas. Return for overnight at the Mountain Gorillas Nest Lodge.
Day 4: NYUNGWE FOREST & ITS PRIMATES
Have breakfast early morning then transfer to Nyungwe Forest. This Forest contains a variety of habitats including montane forest, bamboo, grasslands, swamps and bogs, and is very mountainous too. It provides some of the best Golden Monkey trekking experiences in East Africa. Dinner and Overnight at Gisakura Guest House.
Day 5: CHIMPANZEE TRACKING IN NYUNGWE FOREST
Wake up and have breakfast early before going for chimpanzee trekking in the forest in search of colonies of habituated Golden Monkeys. Other wildlife in the forest includes grey-cheeked mangabeys, blue monkeys, Angolan colobus, L'hoest monkeys and owl-faced monkeys. Dinner and Overnight at Gisakura Guest House.
Day 6: VISIT TO GENOCIDE MEMORIAL
You will have morning at leisure before visiting the Genocide Memorial where the remains of thousands of Tutsis and moderate Hutus can be seen. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel Des Millecollines.
