UGANDA CULTURAL, WILDLIFE AND GORILLA SAFARI (7 DAYS)
DAY 1: Kampala City Tour
You'll be met on arrival at Entebbe airport by the guide and then transfer to your hotel. Incase you arrive earlier, you will have a city tour to the famous tombs of the Kabaka kings, Uganda museum, Bahai temple and Namugongo Martyrs shrine where 22 Christian convicts were killed during the reign of Kabaka Mwanga in 1886 (King of Buganda).Dinner and overnight at Serena Kampala Hotel, Emin Pasha Hotel or Sheraton Kampala/ Cassia Lodge/Hotel Africana, Mamba Point, Shangri- La Hotel or Tourist Hotel, Holiday Express Hotel.
DAY 2: Kampala-Kibale Forest National Park
Depart Kampala after breakfast for the mesmerizing drive through papyrus swamps and thick jungle of the Nile Delta to Kibale National Park just under the Rwenzori Mountains. You will have a guided walk in the crater lakes area of the park for outstanding cultural visit. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge/ Rwenzori View Guest House/ Primate Lodge Kanyanchu.
DAY 3: Chimpanzee Tracking & transfer to Queen Elizabeth Park
Wake up an early morning and go for chimpanzee tracking. Kibale is the best reserve in Africa to view chimps, a thick jungle with a towering canopy. In the afternoon, you will drive to the south into Queen Elizabeth National Park, sightseeing and game viewing enroute. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge or Jacana safari Lodge.
DAY 4: Wildlife Tour in Queen Elizabeth National Park
You will go for a morning game drive in Uganda’s best park, where all the big game can be seen in abundance. This is a famous place for elephant and kobs, also expect to see some rarer animals like giant forest hog. There are 638 recorded bird species in the park! After lunch, you will enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. This connects to Lake Edward and George, watch out for large numbers of buffalo and hippo. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge or Jacana safari lodge or the Mweya Hostel.
DAY 5: Queen Elizabeth - Bwindi Gorilla Park
Early morning following breakfast, you will drive through East Africa’s most spectacular scenery, the highland rain forests which reach to the volcanoes in which the mountain gorillas live. You will make a visit to the bat Cave close to Maramagambo forest. This is the lushest highland rain forest on earth, filled with primates and exotic birds. The afternoon is spent on a foot safari around the local communities living around the park. Dinner and over night at Gorilla Forest Camp / Mantana Tented Camp / the Community Bandas.
DAY 6: Mountain Gorilla Tracking in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Have an early breakfast ready for trekking; this begins at 8:00 am with a briefing from the UWA staff. Ensure to carry along with you rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, jungle boots etc. The guides will lead you inside the jungle and be able to see the shy primates for a group you have been booked for. Do not forget to take your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare Mountain Gorilla, perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. There are now only 650 left in the world! The tracking may take between 2 and 6 hours but its well worth the effort. Dinner and over night at either Gorilla Forest Camp/ Mantana Tented Camp or Lake Kitandara’s Tented Camp/ Buhoma Homestead or the Community Bandas.
DAY 7: Return trip to Kampala
Following breakfast, you will return to Kampala, and then proceed to Entebbe. You will have lunch enroute, make a stop over at Equator Uganda before you catch your flight back home.
