UGANDA BIRDS, CHIMPS, WILDIFE AND GORILLAS

DAY 1: KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK.
After breakfast, you will be picked from your hotel and depart from Kampala to the South western part of Uganda, proceed to Kibale forest the extra ordinary forest that boosts of Uganda’s 335 species of bird, over144species of butterfly and a home to an astonishing 12 species of primate and probably one of the highest primate densities in the world. You will reach late in the and do some afternoon birding at the entrance of the Park. Dinner and overnight at Primates lodge Kanyanchu/ Ndali Lodge/ Rwenzori Mountains View Hotel.

DAY 2: BIRDING IN THE KIBALE PRIMATES FOREST
Following breakfast, you will have a full day birding in Kibale Forest on the guided Forest walks and expect to see a variety of bird species like white- bellied Crested Flycatcher, Grey- throated Flycatcher Uganda woodland warbler, White-naped pigeon, African Pitta, Joyful Greenbul and many more. You will also have a chance to spot families of chimps and monkeys swinging through the ancient forest trees as you move on. Return for lunch and then visit the Bigodi Swamp in the evening for more bird species. Dinner and overnight at Primates lodge Kanyanchu/ Ndali Lodge/ Rwenzori Mountains View Hotel.

DAY 3: TRAVEL TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK.
After breakfast in the morning, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park and do some birding around the Mweya Peninsular and Lake George. You will have lunch at the lodge and after have an afternoon launch cruise on the amazing Kazinga channel for a thrilling bird life like the famous shoebill, African Skimmer, Papyrus Gonolek, Black bee- eater and many more. Watch out for Schools of Hippos, Buffalos crocodiles and more game that come to drink water on the Kazinga water channel. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/ Camping/ Hostel.

DAY 4: ISHASHA SECTOR & CLIMBING LIONS
You’ll have an early morning drive to Ishasha through the Maramagambo- Kigezi area. Watch out for chimps that crisscross the road. You will have lunch enroute and arrive at Ishasha in the evening then go for an evening walk where you may have a chance to see the tree climbing lions. Dinner and overnight at Ishasha tented camp.

DAY 5: BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, go for an early morning drive where you will probably see the rare tree climbing lions again and proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a home to the rare mountain gorilla, the treasure chest of flora and fauna and the richest forest in East Africa. Expect to see various bird species in the Albertine Rift Valley namely Red –throated Alethe, Red -faced Woodland Warbler, Collared Apalis, Woodpeckers, Black bee – eater, Cuckoos and others. You will reach in the afternoon and go for an afternoon birding after lunch. Return for dinner and overnight at Gorilla Resort /Buhoma homestead.

DAY 6: FULL DAY BIRDING IN BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST
After breakfast, proceed to the forest with your packed lunch for a whole day birding. You will also do birding along the “main track” where we’ll spend the whole afternoon and have your lunch. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community Bandas/ Gorilla Resort.

DAY 7: RUHIJA BIRDING REGION
Early morning, you will depart to Ruhija; you will do birding for a few hours enroute. Afternoon along the road to Kabale.Dinner and overnight at Ruhija Camp.

DAY 8: THE BIRDS OF MUBWINDI SWAMP
Today you will have a walk the along trail to Mubwindi Swamp where you will see more bird species, and spend your afternoon around Ruhija. Dinner and Overnight at Ruhija Camp.

DAY 9: LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, travel towards Kabale then depart for Lake Mburo National Park. Other than bird species Lake Mburo National Park boosts of small beautiful lakes, game species notably impala, eland, zebra, buffalo, klipspringer and waterbuck. Have lunch and then have an afternoon birding at the entrance road to Rwonyo. Dinner and over night at Rwonyo Camp.

DAY 10: BIRDING AT LAKE MBURO
Wake up and have breakfast then proceed to Lake Mburo National Park and look at the different bird species, you will have picnic lunch, then take a canoe trip to see the kingfisher, heron and other water bird species and watch out for hippos and crocodiles. Dinner and overnight at Rwonyo Camp.

DAY 11: BIRDS OF LAKE MBURO
You will have a morning game drive which is optional, then get back to Rwonyo Camp. Relax and in the afternoon drive back to Kampala.
